According to the Ombudsman for Children Act (1993:335) the Ombudsman for Children should follow the international development of the CRC and its interpretation. Therefore, the Ombudsman for Children in Sweden closely follows the Committee’s recommendations (concluding observations) for Sweden.
When we follow the Committee's recommendations, of course, we put great emphasis in the Concluding Observations the Committee addresses to Sweden. It is also important to follow the criticism directed towards our Nordic neighbors and other European countries as their Concluding Observations might deal with many issues that are also present in Sweden.
